Gas Pump Information Form

Search gas pump test results conducted by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services of South Florida gas stations from the years 2004 to June 2007.

Florida regulation allows gas pumps to have a margin of error of about half a cup of gasoline per five-gallon container. State inspectors shut down a gas pump that could shortchange consumers, and the gas station has to fix the device. The pump is put back in service after an inspector re-inspects the device.

Gas pumps that could give away more gas than customers pay for are not taken out of service, but inspectors have the option of giving the station a deadline for fixes.

Florida state inspectors test devices for accuracy and when the gas pump fails, more than one test is applied.
